Longmont City Profile
The City of Longmont in October 2017 passed a resolution to adopt the Boulder County Regional Housing Strategy in support of affordable housing, signing on to the goal of reaching 12% affordable housing by 2035.

Longmont City Council
The Longmont City Council includes three ward representatives, three at-large representatives, and the mayor. Its homepage is https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/departments/city-council.
Meetings
The Longmont City Council meets every Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers, located in the Civic Center at 350 Kimbark St., Longmont. The council also holds a monthly "Coffee with Council" session at 9:00am on the last Saturday of the month, with at least two council members attending.

Get Your Voice Heard!

Speak up at any Longmont City Council meeting during the segment, Public Invited to be Heard. Information on Council meetings is posted here: https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/departments/city-council/city-council-meetings.
Attend a once-a-month Coffee with Council session. The schedule is available at https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/departments/city-council/coffee-with-council.
Speak specifically in support of attainable housing fee waivers at council meetings.
Pay attention to the results of the upcoming Housing Needs Study, which will be released in the summer of 2023. Use the information in the study to develop local support for more action.
Support future housing developments by speaking up at City Council meetings when they are on the agenda. Engage others from your neighborhood, congregation, or social group to join you in participating.
Inclusionary Housing
Longmont’s Inclusionary Housing (IH) Ordinance requires the provision, or the equivalent, of 12% of units in new residential developments be affordable to low- and moderate-income buyers. There are several ways owners/developers can meet the requirements.
Sales and rental prices are set by the City and are made available, along with the methodology, on the city’s website.
